Dr Peter Simos — Infectious Diseases Physician, Gold Coast

Dr Peter Simos is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) specialising in infectious diseases. He consults from the Mater Private Hospital Gold Coast Specialist Suites in Southport and accepts referrals for adult patients across the Gold Coast and Northern New South Wales.

Background and training

Before completing his medical degree at Bond University on the Gold Coast, Dr Simos graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Medical Science from QUT and worked as a diagnostic medical scientist at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. That grounding in laboratory pathology and clinical microbiology shapes how he approaches diagnosis: infection is treated best when the organism is identified precisely.

He completed specialist physician and advanced fellowship training across Queensland’s tertiary hospitals, including dedicated subspecialty experience in sexual health and HIV medicine at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
